Why is important to use randomization when doing an experiment or conducting a survey? How could you tell if someone did NOT randomize properly when looking the data? Try to give specific examples.
Because it eliminates bias. You could check for randomness by looking for patterns in subject selections or oddities in the data. Example: if you look at the subjects chosen and you see subject 1 3 5 7 9 11 13 etc.
It is important to use randomization because as Elvie said it eliminates Bias. As with the rectangle activitie in class people were attracted to the larger squares of the squares that would fulfill their initial guess. you can tell if someone didn't randomize the data by looking if there are any outliers.
It's importatnt to use random data because it eliminates bias and makes the results more acurate. if you dont use random data, you can have a very different result than if you had used computer generated random data.
its important because people put there own opinions into the data even without meaning to its just kind of natural for a person to do that. and you can tell because the data will show diff things that are unusual.
It is important to use randomization in an experiment or when conducting a survey because it eliminates bias. If the data isn't random, then it isn't truly representative of the situation. It is representative of people's thoughts or feelings. As we saw in class, with the rectangle activity, people were drawn to the bigger rectangles. They also tended to choose rectangles that would be close to the average that they predicted. This type of bias often results in misleading or inaccurate conclusions.
You need to use randomization to prevent bias from influencing your data. Preconceived ideas on how the data should turn out will influence our choices even if we think we are being completely unbiased, which means our conclusions will be wrong.
it is important to use randomization, because if you don't, you get inaccurate, bias data. peaople tend to be more attracted to certain things, such as larger squres in our class activity, which eliminates the randomness of the data.
Randomization eliminates bias. You can check for bias if there are certain patterns to a set of data. Say if you were to "randomly select numbers from 1-100, if there are only even or odd numbers or if only high numbers or only low numbers are picked.
Randomization shows no human or bias intervention therefor allowing us to use data that would not be in anybodys favor or giving perdiction possibilities to any one person. it is important to use randomization when u need these things. When looking at a certin peice of data it is important to recognize no patterens or subjects that would seem similar in any way. Such as data for a casino card deller. the deller needs to be as random as possible so that there is no unfair advantage.
Randomization like everyone else already said...ELIMINATES BIAS!!! It would probably be easy to tell if data wasn't random because it would be very similar with no variation or outliers.
It is important to use randomization when doing an experiment or conducting a survey because it TERMINATES bias (OoOoh, yeah i know thats not the best word, but everyone used the 'E' word). You could tell if someone did NOT randomize properly when you look at the data and see that guesses have been made that were not properly imferred. For exampla, we were asked to come up with representative data in the random squares activity. Most peoples' average area was above the actual representative area. We had a preconceived idea of what the area should be, and most people saw the larger squares, and failed to mention many of the smaller ones.
you need to use randomization cause it eliminates bias. you can tell wen ur not using randomization like julia said wen we did the squares activities and our guess were not representive of true randomness
